Therapy for Cycle Breakers ·

Atlanta & Georgia

Breaking generational patterns, one new root at a time.

For the one who decided it stops with them. In person in South Buckhead, and virtually across Georgia.

You're the one who noticed.

You looked at how things had always been done in your family — the silence around hard things, the love that arrived with conditions, the strength that was never allowed to rest — and something in you said: not anymore. Not with me. That decision is quiet, and it's enormous. Most people never make it. You did.

The pattern was never your fault — but it can be your choice.

The over-functioning, the conflict avoidance, the bracing for the next hard thing — these were once survival roots. They kept people safe in circumstances that demanded it. You get to decide which ones you keep, which ones you release, and what you plant in their place. That's not betrayal. It's the most loving thing a family line can do — and it usually starts with one person willing to go first.

Four ways we break the cycle, together.

Rewrite the story

We separate you from what you inherited — so "this is just how I am" becomes something you're free to choose differently.

Shift the relationship patterns

We make the old patterns visible, so they stop steering your marriage, your parenting, and your friendships from the shadows.

See the whole system

You didn't form these responses alone, and you won't heal in isolation. We hold the fuller picture — family, culture, the pressures you're still inside.

Honor where you come from

We don't heal by rejecting your roots. We heal by getting honest about them — and keeping what's worth keeping.

This might be your work if…

You’re the first person in your family to go to therapy.

You love your family

and

you don’t want to repeat what you grew up inside of.

You catch yourself reacting exactly like a parent did — and you hate it.

You’re tired of being the strong one who holds everyone together.

You want to parent, partner, and live differently than what was modeled for you.

I'M IN THIS WITH YOU

I'm a cycle breaker too.

As a first-generation American, I know these roots can cross oceans — that the patterns you're working through were sometimes planted long before you. I'm Rochelle Marecheau, LMFT, founder of Thérapie de Marecheau. My job is to be the steady, honest presence you may not have had before, so you can do the freeing work of choosing what comes next.
